France, roads like rivers and damage in Le Lavandou after a “rain of unheard-of violence”

The provisional toll from torrential rains that have caused floods in southern and western France is two dead and one missing.
Le Lavandou, in the Marseille region, was particularly hard hit, where an elderly woman died and her husband is still missing, the mayor said.
The inhabitants of the seaside town were surprised by rainfall of unprecedented violence, as reported by a person to the cameras of BFM TV.
In Cavalière, another town in the region, a resident said he saw a hotel parking lot literally sink. "The water rose in less than ten minutes," said a witness, "everything was inundated."
